After federal funding for homeless families was cut 40%, a Donor Advised Grant provided for the basic needs of families in Lindsay. The grant made it possible for youngsters living in motels, trailers, and inadequate housing to receive help that included school supplies and scholarships for summer youth programs. A family with both parents unemployed received assistance to travel to Valley Children's hospital with their seriously ill child.
