FRF Hires Kelvin Alfaro as Program Officer

Fresno Regional Foundation (FRF) announces the hiring of Kelvin Alfaro aProgram Officer, effective September 23rd, 2013.

 

Fresno, CA Kelvin Alfaro joins the Foundation’s Program staff to provide funding and learning opportunities for the San Joaquin Valley’s Community Benefit Organizations (CBOs). Along with the other staff members, he works to ensure that the Foundation has up-to-date knowledge of the CBO sector (nonprofit) and community issues to inform the Board and donors in cause-specific, impact-directed grantmaking.

Welcoming Kelvin back to FRF

Kelvin rejoins the staff after serving first as Foundation Support Specialist from September 2008 to June 2011. He brings experience in fiscal leadership, outcomes assessment, and management of human capital and program development from his most recent position as Program Director at Central Valley Training Center, Inc., a large organization that offers resources and services to adults with developmental disabilities throughout California.

Lori Clanton, Fresno Regional Foundation’s Director of Administration said, “Just as the Foundation has grown in the years of his absence, Kelvin has expanded his personal and professional career while building his knowledge of the community benefit sector, community collaboration, and strategy. We are pleased to welcome him back to the Foundation in this new role as Program Officer and look forward to having Kelvin's leadership and expertise as we embark on new initiatives.”

Kelvin Alfaro’s recent experiences and background

Mr. Alfaro, most recently served as Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC) Program Director. Through this work, he gained new insights into the challenges faced by for-profit and non-profit organizations in the areas of program management, outcome based programming, and community relations. Prior positions have included United Way of Fresno County, Fresno Barrios Unidos, and Consultant work with several nonprofit organizations in the Central San Joaquin Valley.

Kelvin received his bachelors at California State University, Fresno, with a double major in Sociology and Psychology and a certificate in nonprofit management. He is currently in his last semester of the Craig School of Business MBA program at California State University, Fresno.

Kelvin currently resides in Clovis with his wife Morghan and infant son Sebastian.
