Fresno Regional Foundation presents El Bracero, a Mariachi Opera

Fresno Regional Foundation presents

El Bracero, a Mariachi Opera

 

WHAT:                        The Fresno Regional Foundation (FRF) is hosting El Bracero, a free mariachi opera performance featuring the true story of an immigrant who travels to the United States to work in the fields. Additional interactive arts activities from Urbanist Collective will be available to the community. The first 200 people to attend will receive a free taco meal, and raffle prizes will be offered throughout the event.

 

El Bracero reflects and advances the diverse ways we experience the arts. In 2015, FRF will host a series of arts presentations throughout 2015 to promote engagement in the Arts in nontraditional places to increase the accessibility of the arts to everyone in the Central Valley. These presentations are made possible thanks to a partnership with the James Irvine Foundation.

PHOTO OPPS:            FRF Program Staff will be available to discuss the Engagement Pathway Pilot Projects and FRF’s partnership with the James Irvine Foundation.

                                   

                                    Two grantees will be participating in the event:

  1. Visalia Opera Company will perform El Bracero, featuring Mariachi de Uclatlán from UCLA.
  2. Urbanist Collective will showcase their mural project featuring panels created by youth and families throughout Tulare County.
