Community leadership

As the respected steward of philanthropy, Fresno Regional Foundation serves the community by allocating funds that nourish and support the good works of diverse programs and services.

Philanthropy and the nonprofit sector

The Foundation connects philanthropists to nonprofits that provide programs and services to build a healthy, vibrant and prosperous community. The nonprofit sector is where civic engagement and social capital are created.

The philanthropist, the nonprofit, and the Foundation work together to protect and sustain our community and home. As a community foundation, we endorse the ideals of philanthropists and strive to fulfill our mission to those in the nonprofit sector who perform the good works.

We give more than money

Funding from the Foundation is not enough to address complex regional issues. We are dedicated to providing leadership that informs, strengthens and advances the power of nonprofits to meet challenges and pursue new opportunities. As a convener, we link nonprofits to each other and to the business and public sectors. And we expand local resources by engaging the interest of larger, national foundations to invest in the Central Valley.

We support community initiatives

  • Bank on Fresno Initiative (part of the Bank on California Statewide Initiative)
  • Central Valley Financial Literacy Initiative (CVFLI)
  • Human Investment Initiative (HII)
  • San Joaquin Valley Workforce Funders Collaborative (SJVWFC)

We support nonprofits

We support nonprofits in ways beyond grantmaking.
