Application and guidelines

Fresno Regional Foundation is pleased to provide guidelines and application materials for all our competitive grants. Please review the complete guidelines at the right for detailed information.

Eligibility

  • Applicants should have nonprofit status, or should be a government agency, community group with fiscal agent, public agency, or educational institution.
  • Services/programs should be provided in one or more of the following geographic areas: Fresno County, Madera County, Tulare County, Merced County, Mariposa County and Kings County.
  • Financial health should be measured by IRS 990, internal audits for budgets less than $300,000, external audits for budgets more than $300,000, and operational budget for organization.
  • Board membership should reflect diverse composition of experiences and backgrounds.
  • Organizations should have a minimum of five board members.

Restrictions

Fresno Regional Foundation will not consider grant requests for the following:

  • Political lobbying
  • Previously incurred expenses
  • Fundraising by one agency on behalf of another
  • Capital campaigns for endowments
  • Institutions limiting their services to persons of a single religious sect or denomination
  • Individuals

Application procedures

All guidelines and forms are available for download at the right. 

At least one week prior to the application due date

Please complete and submit an Organization Profile Form with the appropriate attachments. Submit all materials by mail to Sandra Flores at sandra@fresnoregfoundation.org, with appropriate attachments. 

By the specified application deadline

Please complete and submit a Grant Application Form with the appropriate attachments, no later than the application deadline. Submit the form and all attachments by email to our program officer, Sandra Flores at sandra@fresnoregfoundation.org.

Application deadlines are strictly enforced. To confirm that we received your application and attachments, please request a return receipt on your email. To avoid any Internet- or email-related problems that might disqualify your application, all electronic submissions must be confirmed by receiving a reply email from a Fresno Regional Foundation staff member.

Follow-up and reporting requirements

Please review the final report requirements carefully when applying. Organizations must be prepared to comply with all reporting requirements at the end of the grant period. Additionally, please electronically submit copies of press releases and/or media contacts resulting from the grant award. Failure to submit the final report may disqualify the grantee from future funding requests.

Grantee site visits may be conducted by the program officer or a board member of the Foundation during the term of the grant.

Application deadlines

  • Arts and culture grant applications are due May 15, 2008 at 5 p.m.
  • Youth grant applications are due August 7, 2008 at 5 p.m.
  • Human services grant applications are due October 9, 2008 at 5 p.m.
