The Fresno Regional Foundation donated $1 million to be used for the completion of the second phase of the Museum’s building renovation, which began in August of 2005. The newly renovated building will allow the Museum to better fulfill its mission of inspiring inquisitive minds through interaction and involvement in the arts and sciences. The upgraded facility will offer dedicated educational program space as well as new galleries and amenities.

Each year the Fresno Regional Foundation awards grants to qualified non-profit organizations through a discretionary grants program. Discretionary grants are funded through a variety of sources which continue to expand as the Fresno Regional Foundation assets grow. Funding criteria is set by the board and distributed through a request for proposal (RFP) process.

The Fresno Regional Foundation funds programs and services in many areas of interest, such as social justice, the environment, arts and culture, health, human services, education and youth. We frequently make awards in the “field of interest” category, which is created when the donor requests a general designation, such as art, youth, etc. We also administer approximately 130 donor advised funds, which award funding to a specific group as requested by the donor. The board of directors works continually to refine our philanthropic focus. You may view this year’s grant recipients.
