Philanthropy and the Nonprofit Sector
The Fresno Regional Foundation was established as the bridge that connects the philanthropist and the community based organizations that provide the programs and services that help build a healthy, vibrant and prosperous community. The nonprofit sector is where civic engagement and social capital is created. A simple metaphor that best describes this unique relationship is that of a three legged stool. One leg represents the philanthropist, one the community foundation and other, the nonprofit sector. The great seat that we call society, community and home would not stand without all three legs intact. We endorse the ideals of the philanthropist and strive to fulfill our obligation to those in the nonprofit sector who perform the "good works".

We Give More than Money
Funding from the Foundation is not enough to address complex regional issues. We are dedicated to providing leadership which informs, strengthens and advances the power of the nonprofit sector to meet the challenges and grasp new opportunities. As a convener we link community based organizations to each other and to the business and public sector. We expand the local resources by engaging the interest of larger, national foundations to invest in the Central Valley.
