“Read Fresno” 2006 Grant Award $100,000.

The vision of Read Fresno is that every child will read at grade level by 3rd grade. Read Fresno gives new books to children participating in reading improvement programs. This project is administered by One by One Leadership.

The Foundation’s 2008 competitive grants program is funded by local donors and private foundations who have contributed to the Foundation’s field of interest funds or the Foundation’s unrestricted endowment. This year’s grantmaking program is made possible through the generous support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation, Louis Gundelfinger Memorial Fund, Minnie R. Gundelfinger Fund, Fresno Metropolitan Projects Authority Fund, Arts and Cultural Advancement Fund, FRF Board Members, and funds donated by anonymous donors. Our goal is to distribute these funds to a variety of non-profit organizations supporting the Central San Joaquin Valley.
